About SomniTalk

SomniTalk is the community board for people who use CPAP — and for people who look at the data their machine writes down. It is run by the company behind SomniCharts, the sleep-therapy data platform, and it is free to read and free to join.

Why it exists

CPAP therapy is a solitary business. The machine is set up in a ten-minute appointment, the mask is handed over in a bag, and everything after that happens alone at 2 a.m. Meanwhile the device is quietly writing down a detailed record of every night — a record most people never see and nobody explains.

SomniTalk exists so that the record can be discussed out loud: what the charts mean, what is normal, what is worth asking a clinician about, and what turns out to be a mask problem dressed up as a data problem.

Underneath all of it is one plain expectation. People were told the machine would make them feel better, and that is what they want. It is the question this board is built to keep hold of — and the measure of whether any thread here was worth reading.

What you will find here

  • Library — a reference shelf. Every article published on the SomniCharts Learn site has a topic here holding its summary and a link to the full piece, with the discussion underneath. Staff post those topics; anyone can reply.
  • SomniCharts — the product rooms: getting started, importing data from each vendor's SD card, charts and statistics, the SomniDoc assistant, deep analysis, the mobile app, billing, bug reports and feature requests.
  • Community — introductions, the first difficult weeks, masks and comfort, data talk, living with sleep apnea, and a lounge with no agenda.
  • SomniTalk — the Code of Conduct, the FAQ, and the place to tell us the forum itself is broken.

What SomniTalk is not

It is not a clinic. No one here will tell you what your pressure should be, what your diagnosis is, or whether to change your therapy — not staff, and not the clinicians who post here as members, because they are not your clinician and they have not examined you. Everything on this board is information and shared experience. Treatment decisions belong to you and the professional treating you. See the disclaimer.

It is not a support ticket queue. Anything that needs somebody to look inside your SomniCharts account — billing, a lost password, data that has gone missing — goes through the in-app feedback route on the SomniCharts site, not through a public thread.

It is not connected to your SomniCharts account. The forum and the app are separate systems with separate logins, by design. Nothing you post here reaches your therapy data, and nothing in your therapy data is visible here.

Who runs it

SomniTalk is operated by SomniCharts Inc. (Canada). Staff accounts are badged, so you can always tell who is speaking for the company and who is speaking as a member. Staff moderate, post announcements and maintain the Library; they do not moderate opinions about the product. Critical threads about SomniCharts stay up.

Beta

The board opened in 2026 and is still settling. Categories may move, settings may change, and some of it is visibly unfinished. Telling us which parts is genuinely useful — the Site Feedback category is for exactly that.

Contact

  • Forum matters — abuse, moderation, deletion requests, legal notices: [email protected] (delivered to [email protected]).
  • SomniCharts account, billing and app support: the in-app feedback button, or [email protected].

Nothing on SomniTalk is medical advice. Talk to your own clinician before changing therapy.

You're reading SomniTalk as a guest — join in.

Members read every thread in full, ask their own questions, get answers from people on the same therapy, and come back to exactly where they left off.

Registration is free, takes a minute, and only needs a working email address. Pick a handle, never your real name — the Code of Conduct explains why.
